Program Graduates 100 Teams

The Legion Foundation BC/Yukon supports services that help veterans in local communities. One of the key areas that the Legion Foundation supports is Service Dogs.

Thanks to the support of many Legion branches, Ladies Auxiliaries and individual donors, Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs recently graduated its 100th team from their Operational Stress Injuries (OSI) program. This program supports veterans and first responders impacted with PTSD by helping them to transition back into community with renewed purpose, confidence and unconditional support.

On February 27th, Amber Stewart accepted a plaque of recognition from Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs. Because of the support of the Legion Foundation over many years, this program has been able to provide services, including a 52-week training program, at no cost to veterans.

This support would not have been possible without the generous support of Legion Foundation donors – thank you!
