Programs

Our objective is to care for veterans, seniors and youth in local communities across British Columbia and the Yukon. We do this by providing funding directly to programs that support this objective.

BCIT

BCIT Military Skills Program

The BCIT Military Skills program is designed to accelerate and advance the careers of current and former serving members of the Canadian military. This program helps participants to fast-track education options and career support services by recognizing knowledge and skills developed during military service.

VTN

VTN

The Veterans Transition Network delivers counselling programs, free of charge, to any Canadian Armed Forces or RCMP veteran, regardless of trade, branch, gender or station. Multi-day courses are delivered by specially trained psychologists and counsellors, and include direct peer support from fellow veterans.

Cockrell House

Cockrell House

Located in beautiful Colwood, Cockrell House provides safe transitional housing and social services to help veterans integrate back into society in a healthy way. Since 2009, this 11-bed multiplex has provided housing, counselling, life skills, health, social services and transportation free of charge to veterans in need.

Service Dogs

Service Dogs

Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs, a division of BC & Alberta Guide Dogs, provides a year-long training program that matches veterans in need with service dogs. These “dogs with jobs” learn their person’s unique triggers and how to care for them in a way that provides confidence and unconditional support.
