Now, we’re looking for new Board of Directors members.
We Need Passionate Legion Members
The Nominations Committee is calling on Legion members in good standing who care about Veterans to join the Board of Directors. This is your chance to help shape the future of Veteran support in BC and Yukon.
What the Board Does
The Board gives strategic direction and oversight to ensure we stay true to our mission. Here’s what to expect:
- Virtual meetings: 3–4 per year (90 minutes each)
- Mandatory Orientation Day: Once a year (8 hours)
- Monthly commitment: Around 4 hours, including help with fundraising, events, or committees
Who Can Apply?
You must:
- Be 18 or older
- Not have been declared incapable
- Not be listed as an “ineligible individual” under the Income Tax Act
- Not be bankrupt
- Be a Legion member in good standing with any BC/Yukon Command Branch
- Agree to follow the Board Member rules and duties
Board Details
- We will elect 9 Directors for a 2-year term
- No more than 2 Directors can be part of the BC/Yukon Command Executive (Admin/Finance)
How To Apply
Those interested in serving should complete the online self nomination form no later than Friday, May 9, 2025 for consideration. If there are any questions, please contact the Nominations Committee Chair, Gary Peters, at gary.peters@legionbcyukon.ca.
The Nominations Committee will review all candidate submissions and recommend a slate of nominees to the Legion Foundation membership for election at the AGM on June 8, 2025. If reasonable, immediately following the AGM, a Board meeting will be held to elect the Board Chair and Treasurer.
