Introducing HomeBase: A New Way to Support Our Veterans

Open your home. Honour their service. Build community.

Across British Columbia, many Veterans are facing one of the toughest battles of all – finding safe, stable and affordable housing. At the same time, homeowners are feeling the pressure of rising costs and the challenges of maintaining their homes.

HomeBase bridges that gap. This new program connects Veterans in need of housing with homeowners who have rooms or suites available to rent. Together they create meaningful, supportive living arrangements that promote stability, dignity and connection.

Through HomeBase, homeowners can:

  • Offer a room or suite to a Veteran in need
  • Specify preferences (such as non-smoking)
  • Even offer discounted rent in exchange for household help – like lawn care, maintenance, or errands

When a match is found, both the homeowner and Veteran have the opportunity to connect directly and create an arrangement that works for them.

By opening your door, you’re offering more than offering housing – you’re giving a Veteran a safe place to rebuild, belong and thrive.
