The Legion Foundation has partnered with Sachin Latti (of Sach in Motion) to raise awareness about the unique challenges that Veterans face and the services that are available to them.

Veterans and active service members face a transition that most people never see coming. It can bring housing problems, loss of identity, or money worries. The guardrails are not always easy to see until it is too late. The Guardrail podcast series is about finding those guardrails before that moment. Over 10 episodes, Sachin will speak to Veterans, family members and mental health professionals about their experiences with transitioning from active service to civilian life.

In the first episode, published July 3rd, host Sach speaks with Amber, Executive Director of the Legion Foundation (BC/Yukon), and Lauren, who leads the Veteran Homelessness Program. They explain what the Legion Foundation does, who they support, and how they help.

The episode explores the challenges many Veterans and retired RCMP members face after leaving service. A medical release, feeling alone, or living with PTSD can make everyday life much harder. Without support, these struggles can lead to housing instability.

The Legion Foundation helps veterans and retired RCMP members before a crisis becomes an emergency. Support may include rent assistance, damage deposits, apartment starter kits, fresh food delivery, comfort bags, and help finding safe housing.
