HomeBase

About the Program

Across British Columbia, many Veterans are facing one of the toughest battles of all – finding safe, stable and affordable housing. At the same time, homeowners are feeling the pressure of rising costs and the challenges of maintaining their homes. HomeBase is a new initiative that connects homeowners with rooms or suites available for rent to Veterans in need of safe, stable housing. By bridging the gap between those with available homes and those who served our country, HomeBase offers a meaningful solution to Veteran housing insecurity while fostering connection, dignity, and mutual support.

Through HomeBase, homeowners can:

  • Offer a room or suite to a Veteran in need
  • Specify preferences (such as non-smoking)
  • Even offer discounted rent in exchange for household help – like lawn care, maintenance, or errands

How HomeBase Works

  1. Homeowners complete the application form below, sharing preferences (like non-smoking)
  2. When a Veteran is searching for housing, we will see if there is an application that matches
  3. When a match is found, both parties will be connected directly to explore a suitable arrangement
